Our Story
The Mingo Creek Lodge was founded by avid duck hunters and outdoorsman looking for a property that had the opportunity to create amazing habitat, lodging and conservation. In 2021 Arlon Welch introduced this property to our group, excited about itβs potential.
With 15 year CRP forest, Big and Little Mingo Creeks running through it, significant fallow ground as well as its proximity to some of the iconic hunting clubs of Arkansas, this property held tremendous potential. Beyond that, it is 5 minutes to Bald Knob, 45 minutes to Little Rock and 1:45 to Memphis making it an amazingly convenient destination.
Work started the spring of 2021 with a significant levy project allowing the property to hold water for flooding crop impoundments. This work continued for 2 years including water piping and control to maximize the potential of the once fallow ground. 2025 also included the drilling of a well to supplement the reservoir in dry periods
The property consists of flooded CRP with moist soil units, classic timber, natural flooded creek bottoms flush with natural foods, numerous levied crop fields, a natural flooded pipeline and a rest area.
The levied fields allow for programmed feeding areas as they will be flooded individually providing a continual fresh supply of food (crop) throughout the season.
The addition of 120 acres of flooded timber nearby adds to the diversity of the hunting.
With the completion of the lodge and crops in 2024, the property is fully operational and planted, setting up for a fantastic β25/26 season.
